The Czech company Agados in connection with the construction of a new hall and modernization of the production plant decided to automate and better organize the storage process of aluminum profiles used in the production process. Agados, specializing in the production of trailers, with an annual production of 20,000 units, decided to store profiles in the TwinTower® automated storage system.
The TwinTower® automated rack installed in Agados company has 10.4 m high and has 28 full-bottom shelves with a load capacity of 1500 kg and usable dimensions of 6700 x 1300 x 500 mm (h) each.
The TwinTower® automated storage system consists of two storage columns and one transporting column with a moving extractor, shifting shelfs between the storage columns and loading and unloading moveable station transporting goods between 3 stations: external for loading, internal for unloading and inside of the TwinTower®. Loading profiles is carried out by forklift truck outside the building, while unloading is implemented using crane inside the production hall. The rails along which the station moves outside the building are heated. Automated storage of long elements has significantly improve the flow of materials, optimize storage space and streamline production.
